Thought this would be a good place to start. Although you probably have enough people nagging already and your own high standards to deal with.
I would like a pick up button/know how to pick up things you have dropped. I was stupid enough to drop the .22 and couldn't pick it up again.
Also, I'm assuming this is intentional, but the .22 is disturbingly weak, i.e pretty much as bad as the shovel. Now, if it had more range in aiming it would be helpful, but the 30 degree angle (or whatever) isn't working for me anyways...
Other than that, coming along nicely, although I preferred the not blacked out ground much more. :D

No posts have been cropped out.
> pick up button
Hit S (or whatever key you've bound "drop/pick up item" to) again to pick up things you've dropped while you aren't holding another item.> 30 degree sucks
Agreed. I'm looking into other solutions, I might have 5 available angles that you can switch between with up and down, but that becomes a massive PITA with spriting. Still, it's almost certainly a better option than the current solution..By Geti 20:25 Tue 09/11/2010 +0100
DO IT.

I feel so lonely without other regular human beings around me. The survivors/NPC's idea again, really.

On furthur musings, I think that embarking with more (i.e copies) of a gun should just give you more ammo, rather than two/three/nine whole repeaters.
On that note, an ammo box of sorts to embark with. Right now, nothings more irritating than finally finishing the gauntlet of boxes to slow the zombies down and then running out of ammo.
Back to the blacked out ground thing, how about doing it Age of Empires styles, where it is black, but you get a certain area of visible "undiscovered" land around your character. Just so I can avoid those hard to dig through areas.

Actually, now that I think about it, Prelude is a lot like this.
By RoastVeg 23:49 Tue 09/11/2010 +0100
Well, just played that game for 20 minutes. Quite cool, makes me want to put proper cave-ins into Prelude (like, have it create terrain underneath caved in areas.
> ammmo box.
This is planned, along with food crates.> Seeing deeper into terrain
I might create an item that you can use to detect what's in terrain, but not a circle around the player, as that doesn't make sense.> NPCs

I'd personally like to see a handgun, maybe something along the lines of a .22 pocket revolver as a counterpart to the standard rifle.
Maybe with slightly reduced damage and increase shot variance, to balance against improved firing rate and marginally increased starting ammunition.

> handgun
This is definitely going to happen. There might be improvised low caliber handguns (like a .22 revolver or similar) and an M1911 or similar .45 handgun. Sidearms and light arms in general will become important once items get any sort of weight variable that slows you down an limits your jumping.By Geti 00:01 Sun 14/11/2010 +0100

You disgust me.
Geti, see to it this guy [for it is most definitely a guy] sees his comeuppance.

Well, I've been cleaning the spam and banning the spammers, but I can't do much about first-time posters... I think it could be time to write some sort of spam filter. Regardless, carry on, just report spam on the support board if any pops up.
